An Audiologist is a health care professional who can evaluate, diagnosis, and manage hearing disorders or hearing loss. Audiologists earn a doctorate in audiology (AuD) which includes a one year externship and must pass a board certification exam to receive licensing and accreditation. Further, audiologists are required to complete continuing education credits to fulfill licensing requirements. Let Dr. Smith be your new hearing care provider.
Desert Sound Audiology offers a range of services including hearing consultations, audiological evaluations, real ear measures, hearing aid fittings and programming, tinnitus evaluation and treatment, wax removal, and ongoing hearing aid management.

Yes, we would love to adjust and program these hearing aids to your individual hearing needs.
This depends on your insurance coverage. At Desert Sound Audiology the cost of a hearing evaluation starts at $45. There is no charge for a hearing consultation and screening.
In addition, we do not charge extra clinic, admin or new patient fees.
While standard Medicare does cover hearing evaluations, they do not cover traditional hearing aids. And in order for Medicare to cover a hearing evaluation, it must be ordered by your physician or primary care provider. In addition, depending on your Medicare plan there usually is a co-pay for medical appointments or clinic visits.
There are some private insurance polices that do have a hearing care benefit. At Desert Sound Audiology we accept most hearing care benefits from Select Health and United Healthcare. In addition, we have special reduced pricing for other insurance plans. We do not charge extra clinic, admin or new patient fees.
When it comes to your hearing care, Desert Sound Audiology does not cut corners or do the minimum. We provide the gold standard for comprehensive hearing evaluations, and we use the newest technology in hearing care.
All tests are administered by a Board-Certified Doctor of Audiology.
There is a wide range in the type of hearing aids available from over-the-counter to the top-of-the-line devices. At Desert Sound Audiology, we offer five levels of hearing aid technology. Dr. Smith will patiently explain the various options and help you decide which technology of hearing aid is best for you and your lifestyle. At Desert Sound Audiology hearing aids start at around $1,250 per device for private pay.
Like most things in life, you get what you pay for. While discount or over-the-counter hearing aids are tempting, they are generally not a good option for most people experiencing hearing loss. Our experience has shown that individuals who go the discount route for hearing care typically end up being frustrated and unsatisfied with their hearing aids and/or care. Ultimately, they end up going to a professional hearing care practice similar to Desert Sound Audiology.
In addition, the online or discount store options cannot come close to the comprehensive testing, personalized care and professional treatment you will receive by Dr. Smith, a Board-Certified Audiologist.
